The European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) And The European Cycling Manufacturers' Association (CIE) Expand Their Collaboration

The long-term partnership between the European cycling advocacy group the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) and the trade body the European Cycling Manufacturers' Association (CIE) will be extended for a further three years.

The new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will see the organisations continue to collaborate in pursuit of common goals, each aimed at improving the sport of cycling:

50 percent better overall riding

50 million European adults who 'rarely or never' cycle before 2019 to start cycling

Europe to build 100,000 kilometers of new bicycle infrastructure

UNECE/WHO Europe region to adopt 15 new national cycling strategies

EU-funded bicycle infrastructure projects add an extra €15bn on top of state spending

Fiscal and financial incentives for a total of €500 million in tax relief, rental support and a new bike-sharing scheme for bike purchase and use each year

Bike and e-bike sales in Europe to grow to 30 million units per year
